i thank You God for most this amazing
day:for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky;and for everything

This is one of the first poems (e.e. cummings) that made an impact on me. I remember reading it around the time of Carlyle, who talked about the Everlasting Yea and No. Since that was a time of sincere and profound spiritual seeking in my life, these artists made impressions.

But whose heart does not leap at the “blue true dream of sky”?

A nice site for subway art. I like this artist‘s grittiness, real-ness. These are people I see everyday as well, riding on the downtown #1 train.

Gaudi was not only ahead of his time, but his art and architecture evoked such concrete emotions and responses in his audience that I would classify his work as largely particularist. When I saw in 1990 the front entrance of Sagrada Familia, with its images of Jesus Christ carrying his cross, I was overcome. Gaudi had a way of capturing the timeless with the finite.
